S76 'LOSA-Lite' Coming Home – an Aura First
Not a disaster video – just our client’s S76 coming home safe to Port Harcourt after Aura Assurance’s first LOSA-Lite. It is ‘Lite’ because the cabin configuration precludes a traditional ICAO 9803 LOSA observation – so for this we conduct all the usual Pre-Flight and Post-Flight observations and cover the flight phase with a GoPro. While not ‘ideal’ we have been able to extract a number of valuable Findings and Observations for our client.
Almost as striking was the palpable ‘engagement effect’ on the flight crew, engineers and dispatchers – who were all very interested in what we were trying. Many of Aura’s on-site observational audits and engagements generate this engagement effect – where staff genuinely enjoy having someone taking a professional interest in them. James Reason would probably put this under his Learning Culture element of an effective Safety Culture.
